Southwest Ireland

Adare

Length: 7138

Par: 72

The Adare Golf Course opened in 1995 and was designed and built by the world famous architect Robert Trent Jones Sr. The Golf Course is a majestic design with rock-walled streams, subtle undulating putting surfaces with the Jones signature clover leaf bunkers.

A 14 acre lake dominates the front nine holes while the back nine is routed through wooded land. Adding beauty to all of this, the River Maigue meanders through the course creating a sense of beauty and challenge. It is a testing design coupled with superb putting surfaces.

Ballybunion Cashen Course

Length: 6278

Par: 72

The Cashen Course at Ballybunnion was designed by Robert Trent Jones and is every bit as demanding - if not more so - than the Old Course. Both courses enjoy the benefit of the Atlantic coastline.

Ballybunion has to be rated one of the world's greatest links and is now a world-renowned golf course, up there with the other greats around the world.

Ballybunion Old Course

Length: 6524

Par: 71

There is not much that has not been said or written in terms of praise for Ballybunnion. "After playing Ballybunion for the first time, a man would think that the game of golf originated here. Ballybunion is a course on which many golf architects should live and play before they build golf courses. I consider it a true test of golf." Tom Watson

The Old Course at Ballybunnion is world famous and is consistently rated amongst the top twenty courses in the world. A magnificent course with several holes right on the shore and towering sand hills coming into play on all.

Ceann Sibeal

Length: 6572

Par: 70

Ceann Sibeal founded in 1924 is the most westerly golf course in Europe with the great Irish architect Eddie Hackett credited as the course architect. This links course, on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry, is carved from the natural landscape in one of the most unspoiled parts of Europe.

Ireland's beloved Ryder Cup hero Christy O'Connor Jr. oversaw a modern-day update in the 1990s. Not to worry, though, the links look as if they were laid out by Mother Nature herself, who makes her presence known most every day in the forms of wind, mist, fog, rain, and majestic clouds.

The course is welcoming and walkable, spilling down from the clubhouse across the open, visible land. A burn winds throughout the course and the routing takes full advantage of it, strategically bringing it into play on many of the holes. Truth be known, the holes don't even need the burn, because the shot values, presentation and challenge are entirely fulfilling.

Players will experience the panoramic views of the Blasket Islands out in the wild Atlantic as well as local fishing villages, glorious hills and the mountains of this magnificent region in Southwest Ireland.

Dooks

Length: 6572

Par: 70

Dooks golf course is set out on one of three stretches of sand dunes at the head of Dingle Bay. In the immediate foreground are the sand dune peninsulas of Rossbeigh and Inch and just a few miles away the whitewashed houses of Cromane fishing village provide an eye-catching distraction. Southeastwards are the famed McGillycuddy's Reeks, to the southwest are the lovely hills of Glenbeigh and across the bay to the north are the Slieve Mish and Dingle mountains.

And so for the golfer who is seeking a beautiful and tranquil environment to enjoy good golf Dooks presents a convincing case. Hole number 13 best illustrates the charm and magic of Dooks. It is a throw back hole to the time when golf began. A time when greens lay where they fell and were better for it.

Doonbeg

Length: 6885

Par: 72

Doonbeg Golf Club, designed by two-time British Open champion Greg Norman, is situated on a truly remarkable site near the tiny parish of Doonbeg in County Clare, Ireland. "This is a course I want to be identified with, one I will be able to say with pride ' I did that one.' I am the luckiest designer in the world . . . because of the uniqueness of the site." Greg Norman

The course, a true links that will test a golfer's skill and mettle, has won accolades from golfers and media worldwide. Doonbeg Golf Club plays along 1.5 miles of beach and dunes with the ocean visible from the green, fairway, or tee of 16 of the 18 holes.

Dromoland

Length: 6845

Par: 72

The 18 hole superbly maintained Dromoland Golf Course has been in existence since 1961 and was originally designed by the renowned golf architect Mr. Brook L. Wigginton of the USA. Located only a 10-minute drive from Shannon Airport it is set against the backdrop of the five star 16th Century Dromoland Castle Hotel.

The Golf Course is situated on 400 acres of unspoilt, lush wooded parkland with rolling hills, water hazards and concealed bunkers. The gently flowing River Rine becomes a feature for three of the many beautiful holes on the course. The natural terrain of the landscape poses a considerable challenge to even the lowest handicap.

Killarney Killeen Course

Length: 7084

Par: 72

Golf has been played in Killarney since 1891, originally on a nine hole inland course. Then in 1939 it was expanded to an 18 hole course. The expansion brought the course to the lakeside and added outstanding beauty.

The flagship of the three courses, Killeen is truly one of the greatest courses in the country. At 6474 metres it will certainly challenge the longest of hitters and with water on almost every hole accuracy is essential. Killeen played host to the Carroll's Irish Open in both 1991 and 1992, and proved to be a stern test for the Pro's. For the 1991 Carroll's Irish Open, only three players finished under par for the tournament. Killarney also hosted the Curtis Cup in 1996, when Great Britain & Ireland defeated the USA.

Killarney Lackabane

Length: 7095

Par: 72

The latest addition to the Killarney Club, Lackabane is still in its infancy but is already proving to be quite a challenge and is of championship standards. The design is fantastic. With lakes and streams running through the course, it adds to the beauty and also adds a lot of danger to crooked shots. The course is very different to Killeen and Mahony's Point but has just as much to offer.

Killarney Mahony’s Point

Length: 6743

Par: 72

The superb Mahony’s Point, situated beside the famous Lakes of Killarney, is a good test for golfers of all skill levels. At 6164 metres it is the shortest of the three courses, but with a combination of undulating greens, well positioned bunkers and water hazards, wayward shots will often find big trouble.
